Roxana: Hi everybody. This is Roxana Hannah and I am here with two other founders of Solavei, Gery Craig and James Chapman. We just came back from the Seattle Solavei One Year Bash. We’re going to give you a brief update and share some of our biggest take aways from the event.
The Bash was a ton of fun, lots of people there, great music, lots of good food. We had an opportunity to really spend more time with the Solavei staff. They’re an awesome bunch working hard for us.
What are some things that you guys want to say about market place that you would say?
Gary: Well phase one is rolling out very, very soon. We learned that we have a whole bunch of retail partners all over the United States. Big name box stores, all kinds of restaurants that we’re all familiar with. Places like Starbucks and Applebees. Big retail shopping centers like Home Depot and Walmart and all kinds of good stuff. I think all in total about 16,000 retail locations across the United States.
James: Pretty big.
Roxana: Yeah. What does that mean for the members though? What do they need to be doing? The shift and focus is really building your PC1 and PC2 and the reason for that especially on a local level is because of the market place. Then you can save money when you go shopping with Solavei. That’s what it’s all about, it’s all about saving money in the social commerce world.
Gary: The incredible message of Solavei is really the same today as what it’s always been and we’re a company, we’re a social commerce company, we’re doing something that no other company has ever done before, but ultimately our message is simple and it’s powerful and it’s all about saving and value propositions.
The addition of marketplace is a massive extension of that proposition. What’s exciting to me is as we really now look back at our first year, we just had a one year anniversary at this Bash, that’s what the Bash was all about.
One year of being in business and as a company from the executive team perspective, as well as us as team members, we’ve learned a lot. I think it’s fair to say there’s been some mistakes that have been made, but one thing, to me, that’s still just as exciting today as it was back a year and a half ago when I first got involved is the fact that we’re all about providing a means and a way for people to save money on their every day purchases.
We started on the platform of mobile technology because, as Ryan Wuerch, Solavei’s Founder, likes to call this device, it’s a front door service. Front door in that it opens the door to all kinds of other ways to save money. Marketplace is the next step in that process and as we know we look forward and we get ready to officially in the last two days launch into our second year of operation. The message is really becoming more and more powerful and stronger. It’s all about savings and value.
Here there’s going to be more and more ways that we can introduce to our friends and family and loved ones simply through social sharing of the value and saving opportunities.
Roxana: You want to talk about some social commerce a little bit?
James: What I want to mention is on what you said Gary is the value proposition. It hasn’t changed. I think in the first year we really appealed to a lot of the network marketing and internet marketing culture, but it’s not exclusive to that group. This company is designed to reach much further than that, to a much broader audience. It’s not just about, “oh you’re going to make a bunch of money.” Well there’s definitely money making opportunity as a part of it, but the value proposition really is saving people money on products and services that they already spend money on every day.
Again mobile service being the first product much the same way that Amazon started with books. Well when Amazon launched that’s what they sold and a lot of people identified them, myself included, as a book company. Oh, they’re a online book company and then I remember they started introducing other services. They did groceries and they did all these other things and I thought, “What is this company?” But look at Amazon today. I mean they’re ubiquitous and they redefined the selling world; how products and services are moved through distribution channels.
That’s what we’re doing with Solavei starting again with products that people use every day. The second year we’ve moved into this whole new realm of opportunity of helping people to save money on products that they spend money on every day anyway and make it really easy through technology. Through the technologies that we have with us everywhere we go the ability to save money. I think that is going to open the door for a lot more exposure and a lot more growth with the company.
Roxana: When people ask me what I do I tell them I help people save money on their mobile bill through a social commerce network and the response I get is intrigue. People don’t feel threatened they feel interested because they want to learn how to save money on their cell bill, too. Then I go into, “Hey, how much do you spend on yours? I used to spend up to $395. Oh my gosh I haven’t paid a bill in a year.” Just keep it simple and focus on how you can help people save money just like you would help any friend of yours save money on any sale that’s going on. Well this is a permanent sale. We’re here to help people save money each month on a bill that they have to pay.
If they say, “Hey, I’m in contract.” Well, okay, how much are you paying? How long is your contract? You can just do some really simple math to show them how much they would save per month and over time the cost of them breaking their contract, those cost are never really over 200 something.
James: Usually less than 200. that’s about the max, yeah.
Roxana: It’s about that so in a month or two they’re going to save that much. I mean it’s just the biggest take away for me from the whole Bash was, number one obviously excited about the market place, but helping people save on products, grocery, retail, and the most important their cell phone every day.
James: One thing, too, that you said that I really liked was this isn’t get rich quick it’s get rich right. This company is positioning itself for a long, long run. So many of these companies that attempt something of this scale and magnitude come and go very quickly. Solavei has surrounded itself with incredible visionary leaders and thinkers, not only that, but they’re very data driven. They’re analyzing every single metric that can be measured with what we’re doing. They analyze the market. They analyze trends. They see what other companies are doing, where things are going.
There’s a lot of intelligence that is going into how this company is making it’s decisions. It’s not reactionary, it’s not just whimsical or reactionary, it’s very intentional.
Roxana: Intentional definitely.
James: Thought out, not just a year, two years, but five, ten, twenty years out of where we can take this platform. For that reason I’m thinking, “Okay, it’s going to be worth the wait as we work together to establish this platform, to lay the bedrock,” which is what we’re doing now. Then to all grow together from there.
Gary: Well let me answer a question and extend your excellent remarks there James. You asked a question a moment ago in your opening Roxana, what do we do going forward? What do we focus on? Well, the answer to that is really simple, we focus on the savings, the value proposition of Solavei. Solavei is sun in your veins and it’s all about saving and creating more value in our lives. For a family that can save simply on the mobile, in many cases several hundred dollars, just in your case you saved what $300 plus dollars a month.
Roxana: Yep. It comes to approximately $4,000 a year in savings.
Gary: That’s incredible.
Roxana: It’s ridiculous.
Gary: Roxana you’re a small family relatively speaking, but you’re a family and just look at that savings and what you can now do with that additional capital.
Gary: How that enhances your life. Well that’s really a beautiful message right there and we add our market place, an additional savings that are going to be available in the market place. That’s 16,000 stores where we all shop and eat anyway. Other services and products and front door services are coming that are going to be equally as valuable in savings for us. What is the message of Solavei? It is today, I think, what it always will be and even stronger and stronger as we go forward is SAVINGS.
James you just said, “Let’s focus on building a platform today.” The more people that we can bring into Solavei on the platform foundation of mobile technology, again 300 million people in the United States, 330 million cell phones in use. That means some people have more than one. Realistically we have a market access through T-Mobile being a GSM platform about 200 million people. That’s a big market.
James: That’s huge.
Gary: It’s huge. You don’t have to run around trying to sell money making opportunities. In fact, one of the things we’ve learned in the last year through the marketing data and research Solavei’s Founder, Ryan Wuerch and his team of experts work on is just analyzing data and understanding the market better and better. Well, we’ve learned that some people are turned off by opportunities, if you will.
Roxana: Majority of people.
Gary: 70%. Perhaps we’ve …
James: That’s a big number guys.
Roxana: It’s a big number.
Roxana: That’s okay for us because we’re in the business of saving people money anyway. I mean for me because it saved me so much right from the get go that’s been my message and the data shows that that’s a great message to have. That’s what people want. They like the word savings, they like the words free as opposed to a money making opportunity. People cringe at the thought of being sold. You do. I do. We all do. You don’t want to be sold, but if you can tell I can save some money, well great. You are an ambassador to Solavei, you have this huge powerful distribution channel right in your back pocket.
Roxana: What you can do as a gift to other people is help them save money every single month.
Gary: Here’s the exciting thing as we grow our base of users, people devoted to saving money for their families and themselves, we know just from, again this past year, that 10, 15, who knows what that number exactly is going to be, but there will be a certain number of people who will recognize the opportunity on their own. Now you may introduce it to them after the fact or even the company might, bottom line is that’s not our job.
Our job is to introduce the savings and the value every day through wearing the brand, inviting people to … I mean asking a simple question, “Hey you have a mobile phone? Who’s your carrier? What do you pay for that? Well, what if I can show you how you can save $50 on your monthly bill just by switching to Solavei?”
James: You know what I love to do? Anytime I’m waiting in line what are people doing?
Roxana: On their phones.
James: Yeah they’re like this. Oh hey, cool phone. What is that? S3, Samsung, new iPhone? What’s your phone? Oh yeah. People love to talk about their mobile phone.
It’s like, “Well, that’s awesome. Well who’s your carrier? What carrier do you use?” If they tell me their carrier and it’s a new phone then I’ll try to ask them more questions. “Oh wow, so how much you paying?” Then typically that’s when they cringe. “Oh man, I’m paying …,” then sometimes they go, “Oh yeah I got a great deal. I’m grandfathered in at $60 a month.” I say, “Well I haven’t paid a cell phone bill for over a year and I can show you how to do the same thing. It’s actually a company called Solavei. Have you ever heard of them? You probably have, right?” Then mostly they haven’t, but that’s my lead in and guys, Solavei provides the tools for sharing.
On all of our phones you just download the Solavei app and on the Solavei app you have an instant invite that instantly sends somebody a video, a welcome email, and all the information they need to code them to your Solavei link to where you can add them to your contract tracker, your outreach manager, and then go in and follow up with them later.
I was sitting on a plane ride recently back from San Francisco and sat next to a lady and we were talking about Solavei. She said, “That sounds really good. My contract just expired and I’m looking at switching carriers.” I sent her the instant invite, put her in my contract tracker and proceeded to follow up with her. It’s just about exposing people to what we have, to that value.
Gary: In case you haven’t heard, what’s our current promotion?
Roxana: $29 bucks.
Gary: Woohoo, $29 bucks man.
James: Until October …
Roxana: October 4th.
James: October 4th, 2013 so if you’re watching this video after …
Gary: It’s for the first month of service.
Roxana: For the first month, yeah. I mean you’re not inconveniencing people by telling them they can get cell phone service for $29. Then oh it goes to a whooping $49. You’re not inconveniencing people.
Gary: James in that conversation with the lady on the plane you probably didn’t get into the money making side at all.
James: I didn’t mention it.
Gary: You don’t need to.
Roxana: You don’t need to. When I got a ride home from the Solavei Bash I used a car service and the driver he was asking me or I was telling him what I was coming back from, one year anniversary party. We started talking about saving money. I told him that’s what I do for a business. I save people money on their cell phones and I was asking him what he does outside of driving a car and as he’s explaining it to me I was signing into my Solavei app getting ready for the instant invite because I could tell he was interested. He’s the one who said well maybe you could send me an email. I was like oh okay, what’s your email? Now he and I are in contact.
James: Nice. Love it.
Roxana: It’s perfect. People want to know how to save money. It doesn’t matter how much money they make. They still want to learn how to save all the time. Everybody does, everybody does.
Gary: Well when you look at some of the wealthiest people in the world, one of the reasons they are wealthy is not only do they know how to make money, but they’re big time savers.
Roxana: Yeah, big time.
James: They know how to save money.
Gary: They know how to cut cost. They know how to save money and they do it all day every day.
Gary: In fact, if you look at some of the profiles of many of the millionaires across the United States you wouldn’t even know they’re millionaires because they live very frugally. They don’t spend a lot of money. They’re not flashy.
James: They drive 2001 Honda’s.
Roxana: Like Sam Walton.
Gary: If it’s good enough for the wealthy it’s good enough for me and you., I say we all engage in that process. That’s what it’s all about.
Roxana: Go enjoy sharing the savings with everybody that you know because you’re helping them out.
Gary: Absolutely. One other little thing that was announced at the Bash we have yet to really find out what it is, but on November 21 will be a big corporate delivered webinar …
James: Oh yeah, mm-hmm.
Gary: … and they’re going to announce the next incentive trip.
James: The next incentive trip as well as some other big announcements.
Gary: Big announcements, that’s right.
James: Regarding potential … more ways to get compensated.
Gary: Yeah, big stuff coming.
Roxana: Stay tuned, keep building, keep sharing the message with people. It’s going to help you out, it’s going to help them out.
Gary: The take away that I left the Bash was Solavei is just an amazing company run by a visionary like no other I’ve ever known or experienced in my life. I’ve known some really amazing business people in my career and throughout my life and Ryan Wuerch is, I think, one of the greatest visionaries and executive manager that I’ve ever known. Yeah, he’s surrounded himself with a group of people that he likes, loves, and trusts. That’s the culture of Solavei. I think the results tell the story and are telling the story as we sit here today. We’ve had an incredible year. Exciting things have happened and even more exciting things are coming.
Gary: All of you watching this rest assured and be excited, be happy because you have something really special.
Gary: You have something that really is providing savings and value to people. At the very least that’s huge. That’s a major deal. If you just share on a social commerce, socially share the message of Solavei, which is all about just commerce and saving in the world of commerce, the team will grow. You’re business will grow. Out of the people who engage in the simple savings and value proposition some will, like cream, some will rise to the top and engage in the sharing as well and your team and your business will grow.
One other side not, I think it’s fair to say, is that there is going to be some exciting compensation enhancements. Solavei is very aware, Ryan and the executive team, are extremely aware of any frustration that may have existed relative to compensation plans and compensation changes. Let’s be candid, bottom line is they’re very aware of it and they want to make things better across the board. Great things are coming, not only an additional savings and value proposition, but in the way that we’re compensated for engaging in the social sharing. Be happy, be excited. We have something incredible. Solavei is an amazing company.
I particular am grateful because I get to work with beautiful and amazing people like Roxana and James and many others …
James: You’re beautiful, too, Gary.
Gary: Well brother I appreciate that. Love you, too.
Roxana: Well, we’re not just introducing it to people because it’s fun to ride through the ranks. They gave away Apple TV’s, Ipad minis, Tumi luggage, $2,500 shopping sprees…
Roxana: Yeah just royal treatment. It’s a top notch, classy company. Investors love the company. Just a really wonderful family atmosphere. We want to see you guys stick around and know that everyone in Solavei, who’s here, is here to support you and grow with you for a long term.
James: Yeah. One thing I want to say along the same lines is Solavei is a company you can really be proud to represent and proud to get behind. I know a lot of people that shy away from network marketing because they don’t want to be associated with the stigma of one of those pyramid deals. That’s why Solavei is so far from that type of a company.
The quality of people behind this company and the credibility and experience and background of the people behind this company. The fact that we’re partnering with big names like T-Mobile …
Roxana: First Data.
James: … and First Data and on the social commerce platform businesses like what? Nordstrom …
Gary: Nordstrom …
Gary: You like shopping at Nordstrom?
Gary: It’s okay.
James: The credibility factor right there is …
Gary: Yeah, huge.
James: … is huge and so it’s not a company that you have to be shy or ashamed of. It’s a company you can be extremely proud of and that’s one of the big take away I came away from this weekend is just the caliber of just the people in attendance, our fellow members, the people I get to work with everyday. It just we attract a certain type of professional and person that values integrity, doesn’t just talk about it, but lives it. It’s an abused word. People throw it around and talk about it all the time, but as Dale Carnegie said, “Watch what people do, not what they say.” If you look at what Solavei has done this past year, over $60 million dollars in revenue?
Roxana: Yes sir.
James: 250 thousand members. $15 million dollars in commissions paid out to members. They’ve done what they said they were going to do and this is just the first year. I’m really excited to see what happens at the next Bash a year from now.
Roxana: Yeah no kidding. What about the coin star / redbox guy? What was his name? Was he on the executive board?
Gary: He’s on the board of directors, one of the investors and I’ve never met him before and I’m sitting here now as we’re ad libbing and I don’t remember his name.
Roxana: I don’t remember his name either, but he …
Gary: We’ll find out. Put up post it’s somewhere.
Roxana: He came up with Redbox. He came up with Coin Star and a couple of other huge, what he called, billion dollar ideas. He said, “Do not doubt it Solavei is the next billion dollar idea.” He was passionate about it …
Gary: Yeah, that was incredible.
James: Guys if you could have just heard, like Jim Ryan when he got up there and explained really what this is …
James: My mind went whoa and the way he explained it when he presented to the partner companies that we’re working with. What was the analogy he gave where he said they kept putting him on hold to talk about it and then they get all you mean we can do this, and this, and this? He’s like well yeah and they put him on hold again. That was hilarious, but just …
Roxana: Solavei is the distribution channel and at corporate they are working hard to find the best partners for us so we can sell more, but we’re not actually selling. They’re going to do the selling for us we’re just sharing.
James: We have the platform.
James: They built a platform for us. All the heavy lifting is done. We’re just sharing it. We’re just showing it.
Gary: I walked away with two very powerful messages that I got from him. Number one, that he and the rest of the investors didn’t invest millions of dollars into Solavei just to make a few million more. They invested over $30 million dollars in Solavei to make billions. That’s billions with a B guys and there’s no doubt that we’re headed there big time. Everyone of you that are watching this webinar today and participating in Solavei …
James: First movers advantage.
Gary: We’re first movers managing and we have the opportunity to be a part of something massive. The other take away that I want to mention is that same gentleman he said to us, he goes, “Hey guys Solavei is your company. Solavei is yours. You’re a part of this company right along with us. You have locked arms with us as the executive team, as the board members, as the investors and if you have ideas as to how to make Solavei stronger …”
Roxana: He said, “I want to hear them.”
Gary: Want to hear them. He said, “Send them to me. If I like them I’ll take them right into the board.” That’s huge. We’re a part of that opportunity guys.
Roxana: As proof of that they just established their first social commerce advisory committee. Gary and I are honored to be members. You’ll be on it soon James.
Gary: James is very close to accomplishing that.
Roxana: We had all the corporate top executive staff and top leaders inside Solavei at a round table having a meeting and discussing the future of Solavei. That’s what we’re there for. We’re the bridge between our teams and corporate.
Gary: That’s right. We’re your ambassadors guys. We’re here to represent you and again if you have ideas, message any way that Solavei can be improved, bring it to us. We’ll represent you and take it to the top.
Roxana: Yeah, that’s what it’s about. It’s not about some corporate company far removed from what the people want. It’s also not just a couple of people who made it big in an MLM and who decided to start a company. That’s the thing that I actually really like, these are very successful business people who we are fortunate to be aligning ourselves with. They value and respect our goals, dream, desires, wishes, and motivations. That’s why the advisory committee was created so that we could bridge any gap and have very open dialogue.
Gary: One of the questions that the executive leaders gave to us as members of the social commerce advisory committee was the next step guys. It was 250 thousand people have opened up their wallets, spent money, and become members of Solavei. Our question to you is how do we take that to two and a half million?
That’s our question to you as well. We’re all in this together. How are we going to do that? It’s an exciting proposition.
Roxana: When is the best time to build Solavei?
Gary: Right now.
James: Right now.
Roxana: Right now.
James: Actually, quite literally, in terms of the business season they say that right now through, what is it?
James: Is it January? I thought it went through April-May because summer is when people slow down.
Roxana: December and January people, especially January hot, hot, hot. People are on that. Okay, new page, new year, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas finally over with, let’s get rolling in business. Let’s start making money. Let’s turn over a new leaf. Right now is when you really want to start planting the seeds.
James: For January. Yeah, my experience is those who put on the gas in November and right now we’re at the end of September. We’re here October, November, we got a jump start here on the season. Those who put on the gas in November have a phenomenal year following because they’ve positioned themselves and planted seeds for really cultivating those new seedlings as they start popping up in January and gain momentum into the rest of the year.
Now really is the time. We’re planting seeds, we’re getting the message out of what we just learned, what we’re focused on accomplishing over the next year and it’s a great time to really, if you’re not a part of Solavei, it’s a great time to get started. If you’re a part of Solavei and have become disengaged now is the time to reengage. If you’re a part of Solavei and engaged now is the time to put the foot on the pedal.
Gary: Well said. Absolutely.
Roxana: I just thought of a Christmas gift idea.
James: Oh yeah?
Roxana: Yeah, a phone and a sim card.
James: Yeah, that’s a great Christmas idea wrapped in a purple bow.
Gary: How many people do we know that don’t even have a cell phone? There’s actually a bunch of people out there that don’t have a cell phone. Don’t have mobile services yet. Yeah, great gift idea.
James: My eight year old daughter doesn’t have cell phone yet.
Gary: You could get her just a basic phone that has just talk and text. An eight year old doesn’t need data.
Roxana: Need data, no YouTube.
James: That’s right.
Roxana: Thank you everyone so much for joining us. Any last words? I think we covered a lot of it.
Gary: We have. Well, it was an amazing event. Solavei is just another example of their first class operation from top to bottom. Every time I have a touch, if you will, with this company it’s always just first class all the way. The Bash party itself was as small, quaint, beautiful, intimate environment. A lot of good music, good food.
James: A lot of fun.
Gary: it was a lot of fun.
James: That’s one thing that I want to say is that every event that I’ve been to that Solavei puts on is always first class.
James: It’s never second rate. I went to Maui, we all went to Maui, and that was an incredible event. We just had the cruise recently, I didn’t go on the cruise, but from what I heard from people that did go on the cruise they were blown away by just the quality and the service and everything about it. The Bash itself, top notch. Lots of really fun swag and just … but really again what keeps coming back to me is the people and we get to work together. We’re all on the same team. We would love for you to be a part of our team, if you’re not, and if you are then let’s work hard this next couple of months.
Roxana: Keep sharing, keep saving.
James: That’s right.
Gary: Right on. We are Solavei.
Roxana: We are Solavei.
Gary: Thanks a lot guys.
